Empowerment Lab

Reimagining the future
What happens after high school? For students without disabilities, their futures are often filled with exciting college and work opportunities. But students with disabilities are often left behind and alone. We believe every young person deserves a bright future, one filled with opportunities to learn, work and belong. This is why we created Empowerment Lab. Through this three-month program, students explore and identify their talents, interests, environmental work preferences and passions, cumulating in the creation of a digital portfolio highlighting the ability in their disability. More dynamic than a traditional paper resume, Integrate for Good’s digital portfolios make ability come alive through photography and videography using our signature strengths-based approach.
Two young men in a casual dining setting, seemingly in a joyful mood. The man on the left is wearing glasses and a red jacket with a white stripe down the sleeve and is making a peace sign with his fingers. The man on the right, wearing a beige graphic t-shirt, is holding up an orange sports drink bottle with one hand while his other arm is around the man next to him. Both are smiling and looking directly at the camera. Behind them is a wall with a green and beige pattern, and on the table in front of them are materials for the Sleeping Mat Project. The lighting is bright, and the atmosphere appears friendly and relaxed.

Opening Doors on Campus

Making college a place where we all belong
Students with disabilities watch their brothers and sisters, neighbors and friends go off to college, rarely having the opportunity to benefit from campus life themselves. While there are exciting, new opportunities for some students with disabilities to attend college, people with more significant disabilities are still left out. Integrate for Good partners with local colleges and universities to make a meaningful place for people of all abilities to engage on campus through inclusive volunteerism and leadership opportunities
A bright, airy office meeting scene unfolds with six individuals engaged around a large wooden table, suggesting a collaborative work session. At the head of the table, a woman is presenting a tablet to two colleagues seated beside her. Across the table, two male colleagues are engaged in a conversation, one gesturing with his hand, which suggests a dynamic exchange. In the background, another person is writing on sticky notes attached to a corkboard, contributing to the brainstorming session. The room is bathed in natural light from out of view windows, and the presence of indoor plants adds to the tranquil atmosphere. The group appears focused and involved in their work, dressed in casual to smart-casual attire, embodying a modern professional workspace.

Leadership Incubator

Because everyone can teach, and we all have something to learn
After looking for an opportunity like the Leadership Incubator to suggest to the students and families we empower, we could not find anything like it. After realizing a void in service, we decided to create this innovative and empowering initiative, creating a path to leadership for young people of all abilities. Integrate for Good's Leadership Incubator is an innovative solution designed to build a culture of inclusion and equity. Our community members with disabilities benefit by having access to leadership development and opportunities to lead corporate and community engagement events revolving around our inclusive volunteer projects. The curriculum is universally designed to acknowledge diverse learning styles. Instruction is engaging and inclusive, incorporating guest speakers, multi-media presentations and experiential learning.
