Opening Doors on Campus creates a meaningful place for people of all abilities to engage on campus through inclusive volunteerism and leadership opportunities. This is the type of volunteering where everyone is involved, valued, and connected! Join us weekly to connect with our friends at Ursinus, participate in Sleeping Mat Project, and be a part of an inclusive volunteering experience.
The Sleeping Mat Project brings together individuals and groups of all ages and abilities to create sleeping mats from recycled plastic bags for people experiencing homelessness. Each mat, made from 700-800 bags, provides insulation and comfort while recycling plastic waste. Hosted at the IFG Hub, this inclusive initiative allows volunteers to build community networks, form lasting relationships, and produce a significant number of mats.
This inclusive story time is a monthly opportunity to introduce young children to disability inclusion through stories read by individuals with disabilities. Held on the first Saturday of every month, each session features a book focused on inclusion, read by a leader from our IFG community. After the story, children will participate in a light, inclusive service project and have time to socialize, fostering a sense of empathy, understanding, and community among all. People of all ages and abilities are invited to join us!
The Teaching Assistant Seminar is a 3-week interactive seminar for students who have completed Executive Skills Workshop, Leadership Incubator, or Empowerment Lab and are interested in serving as a teaching assistant or lead in any IFG program. Participants will gain key skills in communication, support strategies, and leadership to effectively assist instructors and peers in & out of a classroom setting.
Join us for a social night on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from 6:30-8:00 PM at the Wissahickon Valley Public Library in Blue Bell! It’s an evening filled with service, fun, and socializing. Participate in our Sleeping Mat Project, play games, and connect with new friends in a welcoming, inclusive environment.
Bring your own lunch and join us at the IFG Community Hub!
