Evenings and weekends can be lonely times for young adults of all abilities. That is why inclusive community events matter so much.
We loved celebrating our IFG Inclusive Game Night at Ursinus College, beautifully organized by two amazing Phoenixville Area High School freshmen, Aviyah and Lyla. These two young women thought of everything. From the snacks, to the games, to the smallest details of event design, they were incredibly intentional about creating a space where people would feel welcome, comfortable, and included.
They even stopped to think about things like whether games should be stacked on one table or spread out across different tables, and how it might feel if someone sat down at a game and no one joined them. That level of thoughtfulness says so much. They were not just planning an event. They were designing for belonging.
And that is what made the night so special.
A huge shoutout to our Ursinus students, who support our programs every day and always show up for our mission of disability inclusion. Your presence, energy, and commitment help make campus and community life more connected for everyone.
Great snacks, a fun Friday night, and an event led by two impressive young women who are already doing their part to make the world a little less lonely and a lot more inclusive.
This is what belonging looks like, and this is how we change the world, one Friday night at a time. 💙
