“Sexuality Education for People with Developmental Disabilities”

ABOUT THIS PROGRAM

In collaboration with Elevatus Training, we are excited to welcome two Certified Elevatus Trainers, Dennis Cullen and Jacki Lyster to help co-lead this program. Elevatus is an evidence-informed and trauma-informed curriculum specifically designed to help people living with disabilities confidently navigate the topic of sexuality.

WHO THIS IS FOR

The participant-driven sessions give an opportunity to build understanding of different types of relationships, building friendships, communication in relationships, consent, decision-making, moving from friendship to partner, safety on the internet and social media, and what makes a relationship a healthy one.

Healthy Relationships is for individuals with disabilities who may struggle with understanding the nuances of relationships and boundaries. Many individuals with disabilities are often misunderstood or face challenges in distinguishing between friends and acquaintances, establishing healthy romantic relationships, setting boundaries with friends, or navigating relationships with paid staff and family dynamics. This program helps build the skills needed to foster positive and supportive relationships across all areas of life.

Dennis C. Cullen is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and trained Elevatus facilitator, he specializes in behavior management and supporting individuals with developmental and learning differences.
