ELIJAH JACKSON
Hello! My name is Elijah Jackson, and I will be graduating from Perkiomen Valley High School in 2025. When I graduate, I want to pursue competitive employment and I am interested in many careers, but I am most interested in working at the YMCA as a trainer.

ABOUT ME
- I am always in a great mood and have a smile on my face. I am a hard worker and I prefer hands-on work experiences. I love to stay active through sports, biking, and working out with my family.
- I am hard of hearing, but I adapt easily and vocalize my needs effectively! If I ever need you to repeat something I will ask.
EDUCATION HISTORY
- * At Perkiomen Valley High School I attend Vocational Skills class to learn about career areas, job acquisition, and practical job skills.
- * I have participated in a series of OVR (Office of Vocational Rehabilitation) Early Reach Sessions which has helped me learn how to navigate the job market in my local area.
- * I partake in Viking peer buddies club which allows me to foster connections, build supportive relationships, and contribute to a positive and inclusive school community.
JOB HISTORY
Tru Nature Property Management
- * Landscaping and painting, involving the operation of equipment such as a weed whacker, lawn mower, power drill, and snow/leaf blower.
Perk Up Café
- * Managing orders, handling transactions, preparing and delivering items, and handling dishwashing duties.
Mail Room at PV
- * I work in the mail room 1-2x a week at Perkiomen Valley, my job is to efficiently organize and deliver mail to teachers.
STRATEGIES FOR SUCCESS
- When learning new things, I learn best through actively engaging with tasks because it helps me understand and retain the information best.
- I like to receive encouragement and positive feedback because it keeps me motivated to do my best.
- I am able to work on a team and work alone, but I prefer working in a place that isn’t too loud.
- When I am learning a job, I may need prompting at first but when I feel confident those prompts can be faded out.
- Giving me clear and concise instructions will help me be more efficient.
What makes it hard…
- Loud and distracting environments can be difficult for me to maintain focus, I work best in quieter environments.
- Too many instructions at once can be confusing, I prefer at first to be shown step by step.
INTERESTS
- I love to go to the gym and work out, while I am there, I enjoy weightlifting with friends and my dad.
- I am also interested in working at a landscaping business.
- I like to create graphic designs, I have made designs for shirts, hats, tumblers, bags, and more.
- I enjoy being a part of my school community and attending football games and events with my friends.
